Get to Know Women Taking the Lead
Women Taking the Lead started as a podcast featuring interviews with highly successful women who want to share their journey of finding success with others. Launching in 2015, the podcast has grown quickly.
Upon launching, Women Taking the Lead quickly shot to the #1 position in iTunes New and Noteworthy in three categories: Business, Careers, and Society and Culture.
The podcast was named by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of 24 Exceptional Women-Hosted Podcasts for Entrepreneurs in 2017 and was listed in Patrick Bet-David’s, “The Top Blogs And Podcasts For Female Entrepreneurs.”
The goal of Women Taking the Lead is to inspire women from humble beginnings to overcome self-doubt so they can lead with confidence, integrity and a sense of humor.
“I often listen to Jodi’s podcasts to get inspired to keep going and growing with my business. I love hearing how other women started out and how they became successful. It’s a great way to get me moving when I feel stuck! I think many women struggle with similar things as they work to become credible and successful. It helps to know that I share many of the same feelings and “humble beginnings” as others, and have the same opportunity for success!
Since making this podcast a part of my regular routine I have noticed I am working more productively and consistently on my business. I still fight my own procrastination or lack of belief, but Jodi helps me persevere.”
Divorce, Co-Parent and Step-Parent Coach
I like to think of Women Taking the Lead as free virtual mentoring for any woman. These mentors know the way, go the way and are showing you the way to find your own success.
This podcast offers a unique opportunity to listen in on what is on the minds of successful women leaders: what were their wake-up calls, how did they develop their leadership style, and what are they doing to continue to advance themselves as leaders within their own organizations and as entrepreneurs.
I want to help women just like my clients, entrepreneurial minded women who want to go BIG, to develop the confidence to stand out in a crowd.
I know the tremendous value observing and listening to female leaders has had on my career and I wanted to create a way to give other advancing women the encouragement they need to keep moving forward.
The vision of Women Taking the Lead is to create a culture of community among women to:
- share experiences and resources;
- inspire action and collaboration;
- learn from one another;
- and achieve their biggest goals!
Hello, I’m Jodi Flynn
Though I was a Psychology major in college, I spent the early part of my career as an executive in mutual fund operations. During my work in that industry, I found I flourished in the areas of supervising, mentoring, project management and team building.
It was during this time I discovered my personal mission – to listen for, bring out and nurture other’s Superpowers so they could use them to their advantage. I knew I was meant to focus on helping others discover success and fulfillment in their careers and businesses.
In 2010, I seized the opportunity to train as a Professional Coach through the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC).
Today, as the Founder of Women Taking the Lead I host the Podcast and lead a thriving community of entrepreneurial minded women. I work with individuals and groups focusing on those often overlooked qualities that, if not developed, prevent us from achieving our goals: mindset, confidence, self-leadership, communication and relationship building.
I am a passionate and focused mentor and coach, providing my clients the structure necessary to challenge personal barriers and create the lives, careers and businesses they desire.
I take pride in ‘walking my talk’, taking on challenges that push me outside of my own comfort zone – from following my passion for a career that moved me away from my family and friends to a new state, running a marathon, starting a business, launching the Women Taking the Lead Podcast and…I wrote a book!
I feel the same fear others do when “putting myself out there” but I know that is the path to living full-out, and I love to encourage others to overcome their fears and do the same.
