151: Jan Molino on Finding Success Through Relationships

finding successJan Molino is the CEO of Aspire Ascend. She has a passion for empowering women and a keen perspective on the challenges and opportunities of the modern workplace. Her specialty has always been to help executive women maneuver leadership obstacles and help organizations define cultures that are open to gender balance and diversity. Her strength in bringing smart, influential women and professionals together is complemented by a powerful network she utilizes in pursuit of leadership excellence for women.

Playing Small Moment

Jan realized she lacked confidence after turning down an opportunity to relocate and lead her own team. Her boss at the time told her to advise him of her next opportunity because he thought she was ready to move up.

The Wake Up Call

Jan’s wake up call came when she found herself alone after her business partner decided she wanted out of their new venture. She thought that she had needed a partner, but realized she could handle all the risks necessary.

Style of Leadership

Jan is a connector, a leader who influences people and brings them together. She uses her networks to help people to help other people. In this way relationships are the catalyst to finding success.

Current Leadership Challenge

Jan has to remind herself that she needs to work on the business and not in the business. She is currently challenged by her tendency to over-extend herself.
