The Top Posts from 2015 You Don’t Want to Miss

2015 is coming to a close and 2016 looms before us.

Last year I put together a blog that highlighted the top 8 posts of 2014 and it was a hit. That post actually became one of the top posts of 2015 – message received!

Without further ado…

The Top Posts from 2015

#10 – What to Do When You’ve Got Cabin Fever

Remember last winter? It was very looong and the snow kept coming in February and March.

It felt like torture but that’s because we were all resisting it. Resistance is the cause of suffering.

We don’t have to like what’s going on but we can find ways to make the most of it.

Bookmark this post in case you find yourself trying to make it through the winter this year.

#9 – 5 Reasons Why Having Clear Goals is Critical for Your Business

You would never dream of building a house without a blueprint, a plan for what it would look like once it was built. You would never hire a contractor who didn’t know the materials, manpower, and time it was going to take to build that house.

Is your business less important than the house you would live in? Why, oh why, would you be a leader in business and not have a clear picture of what you are building and what it’s going to take to build it?

Goals, like proper nutrition, are often seen as additional work, but I’ve got five reasons why goals are actually the fuel to your success.

#8 – 10 Easy Tips to Help You Achieve Those Goals

Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.

-Vincent VanGogh

Yes, you really can achieve your goals! Envision them, write them down, work towards them each day, each moment, and you will see yourself transform. Each little step of accomplishment brings forth a new you…and each step you take will be higher than the next…to the day you can say, “I did it!”

I’m sharing ten of my favorite tips that can help make it easier to achieve those goals you’ve defined.

#7 – 5 Easy Strategies to Make the Most Out of Every Obstacle

Launching my Women Taking the Lead podcast really got me thinking about what it takes to overcome obstacles. We all face them, so I decided to put together a summary of five simple tips you can use to navigate the curveballs life throws your way.

Whether it seems like your challenge is insurmountable – or you just need a little pick-me-up to get you going again, these easy strategies will send you on the right track.

#6 – How to (Finally!) Achieve Your Goals

You’ve made some resolutions for the New Year…and you remember making a few of the same ones a year ago. Just the thought of failing makes you cringe. You do want to reach those goals, but…

In my last post, I explained why you need to start visualizing to really feel what matters to you most. Now, let’s talk about what you need to do to get moving.

#5 – The Secret to Happiness at Work and Beyond

Have you ever had one of those days where you wake up and immediately want to dive back into bed? You’re barely up for five minutes, and a long list of things you really don’t want to tackle starts running through your brain.

By mid-day (or maybe sooner!), you’re ready to throw in the towel. If the day was more productive, you would be so much happier…or at least you think it would. Read on for a different perspective…

#4 – Establishing & Enforcing Accountability

Effective managers don’t just delegate – they also check in and give feedback. Part of giving feedback means addressing concerns as they arise.

Since many employees often associate the word “accountability” with something negative, like a slap on the wrist or some other form of punishment, it’s critical to approach the topic from a positive standpoint.

#3 – Establishing Clear Expectations

As a manager, setting clear expectations is one of the most impactful things you’ll do. Yet, many employees see evaluations as a meaningless waste of time. Why?

Without straightforward direction, employees often struggle to figure out what expectations they should be meeting. Your goal is to be direct – tell your employees exactly what you’re evaluating them on. Do not let anything be a surprise when review time rolls around. And don’t skip over anything at review time.

As you develop clear expectations, follow these key tips…

#2 – 3 Reasons Why You Don’t Feel As Successful As You Are

The #1 post from 2014 is now the #2 post for 2015 and there’s a reason why this one continues to be a hit.

There is a big difference between being successful and feeling successful. When my clients don’t feel successful they don’t really care that they are achieving success. They have got to feel it for it to mean anything to them.

I’m guessing if you are reading this then you are much the same.

That being the case here are some reasons why when other people describe you as successful you feel like a fraud.

And the #1 post for 2015 is…

Stop Making Decisions Based on Other People’s Opinions

Whether you’re a leader in the corporate world or the head of your own household, you’ll be asked to make many decisions during your lifetime. Some decisions will be so straightforward, making them will be a no-brainer.

But when you encounter a more difficult decision, put your values first and don’t worry about what others will say or think about your choice.

Consulting with the right people can aid you in gaining the facts you need to make the decision, but in the end, it’s you who must rise up confidently and declare your choice. Now that’s leadership.

Read on and get my 3 tips to make the right choice…

2015 was so much better than I could have imagined and I’m excited to see what the next year will bring.

Before you go, I have a favor to ask of you.

In the comments below let me know which post was most helpful for you and what did I miss? What issue are you dealing with right now that you could use some help with?

Happy New Year!
