Personal Branding Expert
When Katie talks to people about personal branding, they usually freak out. Her job as an expert is to demystify it. Personal branding boils down to how you want to be seen and making yourself memorable. Katie made a concerted effort back in the day, during the genesis of social media, and built a personal brand early on. Katie really fine-tuned her personal branding efforts when she started building a family and needed flexibility. Now, Katie has people that reach out to her no matter where she is in currently working, because of her personal brand.
People hate the word competition, but we always compete for jobs, to get ahead. Personal branding defines your story, gives you credibility. It’s all about learning the ins and outs of amplifying the authentic you.
Where to Start
What do you want others to think of when they hear or see your name? What are you known for among your friends and family? What do you get complimented on the most? What three words would your friends or family use when talking about you?
Structure things when you’re doing this and actually visualize the steps. Craft a short mission statement, expand to be your pitch.
Elevator Pitch
1. Who are you?
2. What do you do?
3. What do you want, and where are you going with that?
